Marvel Has Announced The Premiere Date for Guardians of the Galaxy

gotg_key_artMarvel has announced that the new Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will launch in the US on 9/26. This is great news for kids who might be just a tad too young for Guardians on the big screen.  If Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble are any indication, this should be a ton of fun that even younger kids can enjoy.

Entertainment Weekly, has details about the new Guardians series coming to Disney X D.  It will debut with a 1 hour block, featuring the first two episodes played back to back.  The first two episodes are titled “Road to Knowhere” and “Knowhere to Run” (respectively).  They also announced 10 mini episodes that will run during the month of August.  Head over to EW to read the full details.

For me, this is great news.  As a parent of both an 8 year old and 6 year old, I always try to screen the content they watch.  I felt that the content in Guardians fit the PG-13 rating, so I haven’t let my children watch the film yet.  However, they love the Guardians stuff in Disney Infinity 2.0 and they both love Rocket and Dancing Baby Groot (which I have let them watch….several times!).  Launching this animated series is a great way to get the younger audience invested in the Guardians universe and will hopefully continue to build their enjoyment of the brand.  So, when they do get to enjoy the movie, they will value it even more.  Marvel has a great track record with animated projects so far so I’m looking forward to watching this premiere with the kids.
